Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AlignWellz ("the Service"), operated by AlignWellz ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What AlignWellz is

AlignWellz is an AI-assisted learning companion for learners from Grade R to Grade 12, aligned to South Africa's CAPS curriculum. Accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian ("the account holder") on behalf of one or more students. The AI tutor is a learning aid, not a qualified human teacher, and its responses may occasionally be incomplete or contain errors — it should support your child's learning, not replace guidance from their teachers.

3. Accounts

You must be an adult to create an account, and you're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login details secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account, including your children's use of it under your supervision.

4. Free trial, subscriptions & billing

New accounts get a free 7-day trial. During the free trial your child can talk to the tutor for 20 minutes on each weekday. The trial counts 7 weekdays (Monday to Friday): talking rests on Saturday and Sunday, weekends do not use up trial days, and it carries on from Monday. Typing is always available. After the trial ends, continued access requires a paid plan:

• Monthly plan: R1,999 (launch price), covering 30 days of access.
• Annual plan: R19,500 (launch price), covering 365 days of access.

These are launch prices. They apply to payments made on or before 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027 the regular prices apply: R3,400 for the monthly plan and R24,000 for the annual plan. A plan you have already paid for keeps its paid period.

On a paid plan each child can talk to the tutor for up to 90 minutes on a weekday and 30 minutes on a weekend day, and a family can talk for up to 3 hours a day in total. The time starts afresh every day and does not carry over. Typing is always available.

Payments are processed by Yoco. We don't receive or store your card details. Plans currently renew by you returning to pay again before or after your paid period ends — access isn't automatically re-charged. If a paid period lapses, access is paused until you pay again; your account and your children's data aren't deleted for a lapsed payment alone. Fees already paid for the current period aren't refunded, including if you cancel partway through it. We may change pricing going forward; we'll give you notice before a change affects you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that could harm AlignWellz, other users, or third parties.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or extract the underlying systems or models behind the Service.
• Share your account with people outside your household, or resell access to the Service.
• Upload content you don't have the right to share, or content that is abusive, unlawful, or unrelated to learning.

6. Your content

Homework, questions, and other material you or your child submit remains yours. By submitting it, you give us permission to use it to provide the Service to you — for example, so the AI tutor can read a photo of homework to help with it, and so progress based on it can be shown to you. See our Privacy Policy for how that data is handled.

7. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service and stop paying at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or that we reasonably believe is being misused.

8. No guarantee of results

We aim for AlignWellz to genuinely help — but we can't guarantee specific academic outcomes, marks, or exam results, since these depend on many things outside the Service's control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, AlignWellz isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have that can't lawfully be limited.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
